Nowadays, the trend of 'tea bags' has increased a lot. Tea is served in tea bags everywhere, from ordinary tea shops to hotels.
But recent research has found that tea bags contain millions of harmful microplastics, which have been shown to cause cancer. This not only harms our health. It also invites many types of diseases.
A recent study conducted in Spain has found that a material called polyester is often used to make the outer layer of these tea bags. When it is placed in hot water, a large amount of microplastics and nanoplastics (very small pieces of plastic) and fibrous structures are released. Which are very harmful to our body.
In today's busy life, people have less time. In such a situation, people keep ready-made tea, i.e. tea bags, with them so that they can drink tea wherever they need it.
Excessive consumption of tea bags can be harmful because the tannins found in them are anti-absorbent and anti-nutrients. Which prevent many nutrients from being absorbed.
In addition, due to the use of tea bags, the microplastics contained in them can reach the intestines of our body and harm it. It also has a major impact on memory.
According to researchers at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, these particles enter our intestinal cells and from there enter our bloodstream and spread throughout the body.
When researchers examined different types of tea bags available on the market, they found microplastics and nanoplastics such as nylon-6, polypropylene and cellulose. Which are not suitable for our bodies.
