In the summer season, we start the morning at the office or work with enthusiasm, but as the day progresses, our body starts to feel tired. By afternoon, we start to feel sluggish, heavy, and sleepy.
If this is happening to you every day, don't ignore it as heat or fatigue. It may be a sign of a deficiency in essential nutrients in your body. In fact, constant laziness, heaviness, sleepiness or loss of energy in the afternoon is not only due to the heat outside. It can also be related to your diet. So, let's know about its causes and solutions.
In summer, the body sweats a lot, which leads to a lack of water and minerals. This causes weakness, dizziness and fatigue, but if you are eating properly, drinking water and still feeling empty during the day, then understand that it is not just the weather.
According to health experts, the main reason for frequent fatigue, dizziness or low energy may be a deficiency of iron, vitamin D or vitamin B12. These are basic nutrients, which provide energy to the body. Due to their deficiency, metabolism slows down and fatigue occurs quickly.
If you only eat tea, biscuits or a carbohydrate-rich breakfast in the morning, your blood sugar levels will rise rapidly and then start to fall again. As a result, your energy levels will drop in the afternoon. A diet with adequate protein, fibre and healthy fats will help you stay active throughout the day.
Not getting enough sleep for 6-8 hours can lead to symptoms such as daytime drowsiness, lightheadedness and poor concentration. Especially in summer, the quality of sleep is affected even more. This can be seen as fatigue early in the day.
So, don’t skip breakfast, include protein such as eggs, lentils, milk in it. Drink water throughout the day, drink lemon water or coconut water to replenish the minerals lost through sweat.
Avoid overly sweet and processed foods.
If necessary, get your vitamins and iron checked by your doctor.
After lunch, take a short walk or do some light stretching.
